Welcome to Rutherford County Baptist Church

As I write my life's testimony, I see once again how truly blessed I am. The privilege of growing up in America, a wonderful Christian family, and by the grace of God I accepted Jesus as my saviour at a young age. At the age of twelve God began confirming in my heart His call to the ministry, I was not vocal about it and did not announce it publicly until I graduated high-school in 1987.I attended Hyles-Anderson Bible College and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Theology. In June of that year I began dating my wife Tammy, and a year later we were married.

In 1994 we moved to Alabama where I was youth director, bus director and other various jobs. My oldest child, John, was born while there and he still loves Alabama. While in Alabama, God began working in my heart about being a Pastor. Later we moved to Florida where my daughter was born and then back to Indiana where I had attended Bible College.In 1999 we had prayed and fasted earnestly about the place of God's choosing for us. I was born in Tennessee and love it but resigned to the fact that God wanted me elsewhere. I was thrilled and excited when God made His will very definite and obvious to come to the greater Nashville area and start a Church. We moved in September of 1999 to the Lavergne-Smyrna area not knowing anyone, but having the peace of God in our hearts.I have been honored and privileged to be the Pastor of Rutherford County Baptist Church since its conception and to see God grow His work. It is exciting to watch God work in the hearts and lives of the people I love. I am thrilled to see what God has in store in the future of His Church as we seek to serve the Lord and the people of the middle Tennessee area.Thank you for taking the time to look over our web-site.
